Our
Story
We are a NGO based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Our summer projects operate in Synergy House located in Dzhurovo, a small village where a big Roma community is living.
Through the project Eyes Wide Open, Synergy Bulgaria promoted healthy lifestyle, hands on-work skills and knowledge and community living experience as well as the connection to the local community of Dzhurovo.
Activity Pillars
PILLAR 1
Hands-on Work
“Synergy House” is a great educational learning center, surrounded
entirely by wildlife and needing constant improvement.
Volunteers will be able to do hands-on work improving the interior
and exterior spaces of the location, giving them a modern and
artistic look and leaving their creative mark on them
PILLAR 2
Living in Community and Connecting with Locals
One of the parts of the project is to reach out and connect with the local community and the local initiatives of the surrounding area to build strong partnerships and plan common activities. Each volunteer can also develop their own project within the program related to a topic that excites them and activities that they would like to share with the rest of the community or local people
PILLAR 3
Healthy Lifestyle
The project will provide a learning space for young volunteers to
explore sustainable healthy lifestyles. We will dive into this
topic, hosting the volunteers in a fantastic house in the middle of the
nature of the Rila mountain, where they will be able to consume
utterly healthy food, grown by themselves or from the local people
of the nearby villages
