🌿What happens when ten strangers meet in a remote valley with the intention to live, learn, and grow together? A slow unfolding of trust, curiosity, and collaboration. That’s how Eyes Wide Open 3 began.
During our first week in Liveloula, we gently entered the flow of shared life. We explored the space; cooked and cleaned in teams; learned each other's names and stories; and carved out rituals that helped us ground ourselves. It wasn’t just orientation; it was foundation-laying.
💡What stayed with us?
That community care doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. Fixing fences; tending to vegetables; checking water lines; or sitting in circles to plan our days – these acts built more than structure; they built belonging. The small things are the big things.
🦎 Midweek, we spent a day in the @regreengreece community garden; practiced hands-on sustainability; and later joined a social media training with the team from @hopelandgreece. Some of us discovered new skills; others discovered confidence. All of us walked away with seeds planted – literally and metaphorically.
🌄 Evenings brought rest; laughter; walks by the river; or just silent stargazing. Learning to do nothing together is an underrated joy.
🌱 And so, the journey begins.
Want to follow along? Stick around; or better yet, ask us what it’s like to live in intentional community.
🇪🇺 Eyes Wide Open is a European Solidarity Corps programme supported by the Education & Culture Executive Agency, and co-funded by the European Union. A Hopeland initiative hosted in Liveloula.
